Wagner looks to repeat in Buffalo, Minn.

Buffalo, Minn (June 3, 2023) – Jordan Wagner former resident of Kimball, Minn. is scheduled to compete during the 69th Buffalo PRCA Championship Rodeo June 22-24, 2023. He won the rodeo back in 2019 with his steer wrestling run of 5.0 seconds. Wagner is a current member of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA). He is a 3x qualifier for the Great Lakes Circuit Finals.

The Wagner name is well known for winning multiple Minnesota High School Rodeo Association state championships. Wagner won the 2000 Team Roping championship, the 2001 Steer Wrestling and 2001 All Around Cowboy championships. His brothers Jason, Josh and Jeremy also won MHSRA state championships through the late 80s, 90s and 2000s.

Wagner, his wife Rachel and their two children make their home in Cokato, Minn. His daughter, Hadley, is following in her father’s footsteps competing in rodeos. She qualified for the 2022 and 2023 Junior High National Finals. His son, Broc, ropes and will enter Jr. High School Rodeos in a couple years.

The Buffalo Rodeo is Minnesota’s oldest ProRodeo dating back to 1955. Entries closed on June 2 and over 400 contestants are entered. World Champion Barrel Racers scheduled to compete include Sherry Cervi and Fallon Taylor. The rough stock sections of bareback riding, saddle bronc riding bullriding are deep. Several circuit champions along with many National Finals Rodeo qualifiers including bareback rider Tanner Aus, from New London, Minn and bull rider Trey Kimzey from Strong City, Okla.

ProRodeo tickets are available online buffalorodeo.com. Free parking, free pony rides and Thursday June 22, all children 12 and under receive free admission. Gates open at 5 p.m. with live music, food trucks and vendors.  Free admission daily to Rodeo & Rhinestones at the Buffalo Civic Center from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. June 22-24, 2023. The western marketplace is like Cowboy Christmas held during the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas with booths, rodeo displays, tooled leather, western fashions, cowboy hats, western home décor and at hat bar.
