Council Bluffs PRCA Rodeo adds Mutton Bustin and Stick Horse Rodeo for Kids, March 20-21, 2026
Kids Tickets are just $5 in advance when purchased at the Mid America Center Box Office and only $10 at the door. Friday Night all kids get in free with a paid adult General Admission ticket.
Council Bluffs, IA (March 13, 2026) – Families will have a new reason to arrive early at this year’s March 20-21, 2026 Council Bluffs PRCA Rodeo: a Stick Horse Rodeo in the lobby before each performance from 6-7 p.m., giving young cowboys and cowgirls a chance to compete in their own mini-rodeo experience.
The Stick Horse Rodeo is open to children and features fun, interactive activities like barrel racing, and photo moments with rodeo queens. Children can bring their own stick horses or borrow one from a rodeo queen to race around the clover leaf pattern.
“We wanted to create something special for kids that captures the fun and spirit of the rodeo,” said Council Bluffs PRCA Rodeo. “The Stick Horse Rodeo gives families a hands-on, memorable experience before they head into the arena for the PRCA action. The Mid America Center lobby is decorated with trick riding images and a bullfighter.
New in 2026 is the addition of Mutton Bustin’ aka Sheep Riding for cowboys and cowgirls. Limited entries for children to ride sheep each night will be taken on first come first serve. The entry fee is $10. The rodeo will provide helmets and vests. The winning Mutton Buster will be awarded a gift certificate from Boot Barn. The registration table will be setup in the lobby at the Mid America Center starting at 6 p.m. each night.
Ticket buyers can select where they want to sit at the MAC with General Admission tickets (13 years and older) in advance are only $20. Tickets bought at the door are $25. A limited amount of reserve seats are available starting at $40.

Dakota Glasshoff, Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska 2025, enjoys spending time around horses and rodeo events. She owns three stick horses named Chocolate, Blacky, and Cupcake, which were a special gift from her Grandma and Papa. Dakota attended her first rodeo at just three years old when her Grandma and Aunt Brooke took her to the Buffalo Bill Rodeo during Nebraskaland Days. That experience helped spark her love for the rodeo lifestyle. Her favorite candy bar is a Hershey’s chocolate bar, and her favorite barrel racer is Hailey Kinsel, whom she admires greatly and has had the opportunity to meet three times. Dakota’s dream horse trailer would include a large bathroom where she could get ready for rodeo events. One of her favorite western fashion pieces is her pearl jewelry collection, which she recently started and enjoys wearing because it goes with everything.

Ellah Baker, 2025 Cherry County Rodeo Princess. I own/owned a stick horse named Sparkles. It was a gift. My first rodeo I attended was The Trenton Harvest Festival Rodeo at age three with my parents and brother. My favorite candy bar is Snickers. My favorite barrel racer is Amberley Snyder because despite her disability she continues to follow her dreams and be courageous! My dream horse trailer would have a lot of tack room, air conditioning for those hot summer days, living quarters, and a good amount of space for the horses! My favorite western pieces of clothing are jewelry and my belt buckles! I love my belt buckles cause each of them tells a different story and I can match my jewelry to anything I’m wearing to accessorize my outfit!

Ellie Evans Miss Teen Rodeo Iowa. Stick Horse: I own a pink stick horse with a sparkly mane named Pinky. It was a gift from my mom. First Rodeo Attended: The first rodeo I attended was the Tri-State Rodeo when I was 12-years-old with my family and a family friend who I later started showing horses for. Favorite Candy Bar: My favorite candy bars are Snickers and Twix, but if I’m being honest, I love sour candy even more. Favorite Barrel Racer: My favorite barrel racer is Kassie Mowry because of her resilience and determination. She never gives up and continues to push through challenges, which is something I really admire. Dream Horse Trailer: My dream horse trailer would be a black Bloomer trailer because of their saying, “Only the Best.” Favorite Western Clothing: My favorite western clothing pieces are my arena shirts because they really express my personality and help me stand out in the arena.

Rita Robinson, Lil Miss Days of 56. I owned a stick horse named Rose. It was a gift from my mom. My first rodeo I attended was days of 56 in Ponca as a baby with my family. My favorite candy bar is Milky Way. My favorite barrel racer is Hailey Kinsel. I love her horse, Sister. My dream horse trailer would have a huge tack area and room for all our horses. My favorite western piece of clothing is a belt buckle because it is pretty.

Ada Robinson Hoot Gibson Memorial Rodeo Princess. I owned a stick horse named uni- it was a unicorn. It was a gift from my mom. My first rodeo I attended was days of 56 in Ponca as a baby with my family. My favorite candy bar is Kit Kat. My favorite barrel racer is Tricia Aldridge and I love her horse Audios Pantelones. My dream horse trailer would have bunks for the whole family. My favorite western piece of clothing is a hat because they are fun to wear and match to my outfit.

Kennedy Meinberg Miss Nebraska Cowgirl Queen. I owned a stick horse named Noodles. It was a gift from my mom. My first rodeo I attended was at Lancaster Event Center and I was 8. I attended with my mom, dad, and brother. My favorite candy bar is 3 musketeers. My favorite barrel racer is Amberley Snyder because she never let anything stop her. My dream horse trailer would have air conditioning!! My favorite western pieces of clothing are trophy buckles and jeans!”

Brooklynn Tidyman, Furnas Co. Rodeo Queen. I owned a Stick Horse Named - Pink Sparkle, a gift from her mom. My First Rodeo was the Denver Stock Show; I was 5-years-old and attended with her parents and brother. My Favorite Candy Bar - Hershey's Cookies and Cream Favorite Barrel Racer - Hailey Kinsel. My Dream Horse Trailer - It would be a 2026 Lakota 4 Horse Trailer with back tack and have a slide out. My Favorite Western Piece of Clothing - my belt, custom made by my cousin with my name.

Macadie Soll, Little Miss Wahoo Rodeo. Stick horse named Judith, it was a hand-me-down. First Rodeo I attended was Hoot Gibson in Tekamah at 6 months old. I went with my mom and dad, brother, sister, and the Rodeo queen had a horse named Duchess. Favorite candy bar is Kit Kat. Favorite barrel racer is Haley Kinsel because she runs my favorite horse, Sister. Dream horse trailer would have 100 stalls, but it'd still be really short so I can drive it. (It's a magic trailer) My favorite western piece of clothing is Kimes Jeans. And why? Cause they're expensive, and I don't own a pair.

Kelsey Hutton, Miss Wahoo Rodeo 2025. I owned a stick horse named Buckaroo; it was a gift from my grandmother. He was fast, gritty, and bucked every once in a while, - hence the name! My first rodeo I attended was the Wahoo Saddle Club PRCA Rodeo, at age 15 with my family. I am so honored to now be able to proudly represent this rodeo! My favorite candy bar is a KitKat. My favorite barrel racer is Emily Beisel. Like me, she is not from a rodeo family but has found a passion for the sport. Her signature leg-lifts and athletic riding style are so fun to watch! My dream horse trailer would be a 3-horse weekender, with a decent living quarters and room for my big gelding, Pilot, in the back. My favorite western piece of clothing would be my trusty Ariat boots, which have carried me through years of hard work, long days, and make me look just a couple inches taller.

Lauren Jaschke Miss Sidney, Iowa Rodeo 2025. I owned a stick horse named trigger. He was a gift from my parents. The first rodeo I attended was Cyclone Stampede in Ames, at 13-years-old with my family. I was there to watch the horse I took lessons on compete in the rodeo! My favorite candy bar is Reese’s! My favorite barrel racer is Sherry Cervi. She’s my favorite because she’s been in the sport of rodeo and running barrels for decades, she’s incredibly consistent and shows perseverance with her work ethic. My dream horse trailer would have a small living quarters with a mid tack! Lots of room for all my horses and stuff! Traveling as a queen requires lots of things: curling irons, makeup, clothes, hats and boots! Lots of cabinets within the living quarters would make the perfect rodeo rig, hauling with all 4 of my horses! My favorite western clothing pieces are my rings from Cowhide and Conchos, CH Designs, and Cherokee West Leather Co! I love statement rings that look good for everyday wear and rodeos! I love to pair my rings with a pair of statement earrings and my Rockin’ King Customs Miss Sidney, Iowa belt buckle! And my buckle always has to be on my NZ Design's Custom belt!
