Big Bucks ProRodeo’s Mare “Freckles” Powers to Victory at Xtreme Broncs Finals in Rapid City

Mosbrucker bloodlines receive High Marked Bronc accolades in S.D.

Rapid City, SD (August 19, 2025)— In a thrilling display of grit and horsepower, Big Bucks ProRodeo’s standout mare Freckles carried 21-year-old Brody Wells of Powell, Wyoming, to victory at the Xtreme Broncs Finals held Sunday night, August 17, at the Central States Fair & Rodeo in Rapid City.  The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) sanctions the event prior to the Range Days Rodeo.

Wells made a clean sweep, winning the 2025  Xtreme Broncs Finals both rounds and average. He delivered two electrifying rides on Sunday night. His 91-point ride aboard Freckles in the short round secured his $38,000 payday. The mare, Freckles, received the high marked bronc score too.

Prior to the final round contestants draw their horse. Wells, the high marked score in the long round, was the first to select a card from the pile. He picked #5 and scratched off using a coin to see his horse’s name revealed – the bay mare, Freckles, from Big Bucks ProRodeo.

“I thought that was a really good match up especially how well Brody’s been riding,” stated Cody Flitton, co-owner of Big Bucks ProRodeo.  “Most cowboys have a hard time riding her because they are caught off guard. She looks like a sweet hopper, but she has power. They underestimate,” explained Flitton.

Flitton and his business partner, Jody Burnside, own Big Bucks ProRodeo. They purchased the former Mosbrucker Rodeo Company from brothers Wally and Kelly.  The bay mare, Freckles, is part of the award-winning breeding program from the Mosbrucker bloodlines. The 2025 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (WNFR) are within reach for the mare being selected again.

In 2007 three rounds at the WNFR were won on Mosbrucker’s bareback horse Magic Wars. The former WNFR arena record 91.5 points was tied by 3x World Champion Bareback Rider Will Lowe on Magic Wars.

Freckles performance in Rapid City solidified her status as one of the premier broncs in the Big Bucks ProRodeo string.
